An reliever airport location in the desert not far from Las Vegas. Lots of new road and building construction in this growth area. I’m sure it will be much changed upon next visit.

The pavement ends at the Aqua Caliente Indian Reservation and the trail portion becomes a hike due to desert terrain and steep rise. Otherwise, the route along North Palm Canyon, Tramway Rd., and the +1M residential area is paved. It’s a scenic 5.9 miles with a vista of windmill farms east of the Banning Pass.

One lap of the Fort Lauderdale Executive. The airport perimeter road is flat concrete sidewalk or pavement with soft grass edge. Many general aviation aircraft to view while maneuvering this 6 mile circuit.
Run-o-Meter
There are many sites that offer to maintain your running statistics. The Run-O-Meter site has the most Zen artistic layout to my eye.

To avoid that stuck in a hotel room feeling one has only to step outside – even in Romulus, MI. This little circuit is level concrete blvd. with very light vehicular traffic. Clearing the hotel strip opens up countryside and corn fields. One lap equals 2.9 miles.
PBI
Last run for the year… 7.4 miles of concrete. Once you cross over the ICW into Palm Beach, heavy traffic subsides. See the beach! A detour for take-out at the La Salsa in the City Place gives pause. Try not to drip sweat on the salsa bar.

The Bachman Lake Greenbelt is a 3.9 mile loop located on the northern boundary of Dallas Love Field. It offers some good plane watching and photo vantage as it lies just beneath the departure / arrival corridor. It is asphalt paved but with short cropped Bermuda Grass alongside. The surrounding park features Latino ethnicity on the weekends.

I joined the West Loop Trail from Long St. in downtown Columbus. From there I turned south for Lower Scioto Park. The river offers some natural scenery contrasting with skyscraper buildings and the roar of traffic. The multi-use path is 2.2 miles of concrete and pavement. At the end of the return run, a worth while stop is North Market.

The American Tobacco Trail, part of a national rails to trails push is being completed in stages. When finished it will run 22 miles from The Durham Bulls Athletic Stadium south to Beaver Creek. I had a chance to jog from the southern most trail head to White Oak Church Rd. in Wake County and found it very fine. The traffic was light with 2 equestrian riders, a few mountain bikers and a mom on foot behind a baby stroller. It is a rural section of wide packed white sand and shaded by tall pines and hardwoods. 5.1 miles
